Should I move directly to NYC?

It's a tricky topic. I went to school here in NYC so that's when I took my giant leap, being in school gave me a chance to look around and settle and meet people while at the same time have a purpose to be here rather then just socialize. I know some people who just came to nyc without having work or school here and didn't last very long. My suggestion is think about going to a conservatory here or something that can secure you just to bring you here for a reason and have a main base, rather then just coming here with nothing. That way you'll meet people who are also in the same boat as you and it won't be so scary.
